The Karakorum highway 
Over 16 years (1966-1982) the chinese and pakistanese armies worked together to build what would become the highest road in the world, the Karakorum highway.
Those 1300 kms of asphalt road link Kasghar (China) to Islamabad (Pakistan) and are an amazing mean to access and discover that beautiful mountainous area.
